We began with desktop sized air purifiers and evolved into today's patented whole house electronic indoor air purifying system. Our ambitious technology roadmap will enable us to further evolve and move closer to our vision. So you see, the phrase, 'AspenAir Inside', isn't just a name, or a tagline, it's our mantra. Itís who we are and what we are all about. Our vision is to deliver life-changing, high-performance, high-efficiency, air-cleaning products and technology to the millions of people who need them in their everyday lives.

Making indoor air safe, clean and pure.

AspenAir produces the first truly effective Electronic Air Cleaners that remove Respirable Suspended Particles (RSP) to improve Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) in residences and commercial buildings. Our high-efficiency filtration products fit into either the return air filter grille or right next to the air handler and integrate into forced air HVAC systems to purify the whole house air by removing the harmful small particles.

Consumer awareness of the health effects associated with Indoor Air Quality has grown rapidly. RSP, which range in size from 0.3 to 2.5 microns, are the primary trigger for asthma, allergies and other critical health problems.  RSP which include mold, pollen, smoke, toxic hydrocarbons, carcinogens, and other pollutants are more than 1000 times more likely to be inhaled indoors than outdoors. According to a survey of over 10,000 houses, the air in 86% of all homes in the US has particulate concentrations above safe levels. Over 60 million people in the US have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which is aggravated by RSP in their homes. The California Air Resources Board has reported that the effects of indoor air pollution costs California alone $45 Billion per year.

Our History in Brief:

1981 – Air Ion Devices, Inc. is founded by Al Barsimanto and begins doing business as AspenAir. Al’s primary objective is to master the technology that will enable cigarette smoke to be effectively removed from indoor air, while providing “balanced” air that is found in nature.

1984 through 1996 – AspenAir sells nearly a million Indoor Air Purifiers, primarily via direct to consumer marketing.

1997 – The company begins work developing a high-efficiency; electronic, whole house air cleaning system, leveraging their breakthrough proprietary technology. Primary focus is to create high-performance units which can be installed either at the furnace or in the return air filter grille. The latest patent for our revolutionary technology was approved in 2006.

2006 – With Mike Gunion as CEO and Joe Castner as COO, (AspenAir) closes its first round of equity financing investment. Primary investment comes from the green building industry.
